The “Expressions – Fusion of Arts” event organized by Sri Aurobindo School, Sector-27A, Chandigarh, was a vibrant celebration of creativity and talent. While the spotlight was on the incredible artistic performances of the students, as a counsellor, I took a moment to address the parents on a topic close to my heart.
Amidst the festivities, I emphasized the importance of parents staying connected with the school and actively engaging in their child’s educational journey. Schools provide guidance and structure, but it’s the partnership between parents and educators that truly shapes a child’s future. Ignoring this collaboration can sometimes lead to misguidance or missed opportunities for the child.
I also urged parents to carve out meaningful time to spend with their children. In today’s busy world, it’s easy to let moments slip away, but these interactions are the foundation of a strong parent-child relationship. Whether it’s discussing their day, exploring their interests, or simply being present, these small investments of time can make a world of difference in a child’s emotional and mental well-being.
While the event was a celebration of art, it also became a gentle reminder of the role we all play in nurturing the next generation. Let’s continue to work together parents, teachers, and counsellors to ensure our children grow into confident, well-rounded individuals.
